Jordan Scheer

Principal, Lower School / Elementary

Jordan was appointed as Lower School Principal since the 2021 - 2022 school year. Originally from Island Heights, New Jersey in the USA, Jordan has been working in overseas education since 2010.  He began his career in Charlotte, North Carolina where he taught grades 3 and 5 before making the jump overseas.  At his first international school in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, he taught grades 5 and 7 and then moved on to be the Director of the Omololu International School on the island of Anguilla from 2014-2018.  After that, Jordan served as the Director of Instruction for three years at the QSI International School of Minsk in Minsk, Belarus.  Jordan holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Wake Forest University and  Masters in Curriculum and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  This is now Jordan’s fourth year at the Elementary Principal at the GEMS American Academy Qatar.  


In his free time, Jordan is a lover of the outdoors and an avid runner, scuba-diver, and traveler.  In his downtime, he spends time at the beach or hiking with his wife, Alicia (who teaches middle school mathematics at GAAQ) and his children Avery and Nolan.
